An Ode about Martin

LI:To write an Ode
An Ode about Martin Luther King

O’ Martin Luther King
Your glasses were so old but you were so young you past as a great man smiles never end
your eyes lit up the room
as you told us about your dream
You made me think I had a place in this world

You were a great pastor to your church, You told them all about your dream, that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed, you were truly a saint

You were my inspiration to never give up and listen to my heart even when people say im wrong you were my hero

Manaiakalani Film Festival

3D displays
Room 7 and Room 10 collaborated this year to create a movie for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Our movie is called Powhiri. In Term 3 we had been learning about Maori customs and traditions. We visited the Auckland Museum where there are lots of different artifacts that helped us learn about how Maori use to live. You can read more of our blog posts here.
We created 3D displays for the classroom sharing what we had learnt about Maori traditions and also read and retold Maori legends for our blogs.
In our movie we shared a Powhiri including waiata (songs) and Mihi (speech).

The reason for me being scared was because we played dodge ball and it wasn’t your typical game it was run or get hurt. wake up my dad tells us we are all still half asleep. Then I hear him say we are going to go to the park because all of our church mates are have a Rugby league Practice.

My Nana's Bio Poem

LI: To write a bio poem

Cheryl
Funny, generous, loving, silly at times
Sibling of five sisters and three brothers
Lover of gardening, books, and clean houses
Who feels in a rush, and cranky at times
Needs her books/magazines also to garden and a daily dose of fresh air
Who freely gives knowledge and laughter
Fears Gossipers and high places
Would like to see the Eiffel tower
Resident of Glen Innes Auckland
Fepale is her last name

Scruffy and Duffy

Today on this very cold day Glenbrae school rushed to Tamaki Collage for an awesome Duffy show. The show was called the best book in the world and so it was. There was a boy named Duffy and had a little brother named scruffy. Duffy went on a lot of adventures with the best book in the world but, Scruffy would not have it and he would try his hardest to scare the book. At the end of it Duffy read the book to Scruffy and signed the book. My favourite part in this play was when it was Emmy's Birthday because she was really happy about her present, she was crazy happy.
